As you probably know HIIT means High Intensity Interval Training… okay cool but what does that mean exactly? Well HIIT workout is a type of workout that combines intense exercises and period of rest. The time can be different, you can have 30sec intense with 15sec reps or 45sec intense with 30sec rest. This is really up to you.

I like to do 45sec with 15sec rest because it allow me to burn a bit more calories faster.

What are the benefits of HIIT workout?

  • Pump your metabolism

This will allow you to burn fat even after your workout and for longer (throughout the day). This happens because of something called EPOC (increase of oxygen that your body uses ans speed your metabolic rate). The increase of oxygen consumption will require more calorie burning. So get motivated and kill this workout!

  • Fat loss and build muscle

By doing this intense workout your body will create more hormones and testosterone which will help you for either burning fat and build muscle ( if you eat enough though)

  • Burn more fat than Endurance training

Oh well you don’t have to say this twice! No need to run for hours and hours to burn fat! HIIT workout is quick (15-20min) and if you do it right it can burn more fat than a long endurance training!
